Technically I was one of you. I was a fan / member of The Punters Show (prior to the Racing Rant ‘rebrand’) and aspired maybe one day to go out on my own as a pro punter. I used to follow intently the ‘pearls of wisdom’ both Marc & Glenn dropped weekly and would make both mental and physical notes along the way.
I switched careers from co-founding a Sports Marketing & Sponsorship Business called Dream Team Management and managed to land a job trading for corporate bookmaker Unibet. It was a great step in my punting journey because I was able to see three things that are particularly important for punters
- How corporate bookies work
- How good punters bet
- How bad punters bet
After a few years my next move was to join The Punters Show in an admin type role where I was collating Marc and Glenn’s sets along with our various suppliers who were also “PP’s” (pro punters). I would pick apart the sets and then cross reference what they see with my own eye and eventually pick out that pieces that made the most sense to me.
After another two or three years of this I was confronted with the opportunity to leave the team which was now under new management and have a crack for myself.
I was lucky enough to meet and befriend some of the sharpest minds in professional gambling on Australian gallops. It’s a tough circle to break into because everyone is generally quite secretive and protective which I 100% respect but without this network around I would in no way still be swinging.
There are so few edges in the game and the difference between winning and losing is minute. I still make many mistakes a week I am far from the finished product but I do like to think I am learning and adjusting to an always evolving market.
With the below audio Q & A I will try and tip people in the right direction to ensure that gambling on Australian thoroughbreds can be a nice little income stream whether it be a part time or full-time hobby.

I hope you enjoy.
